Vehicle stopped for driving 'in a dangerous manner'. Charges follow

On March 30, 2018 at 2:55 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members were on regular patrol duties on Highway 108, south of the City of Elliot Lake.

Police observed a vehicle operating in a dangerous manner. A traffic stop was initiated and investigation revealed the driver was suspended. This resulted in the vehicle being towed. 

John Coull, 80 years of age, from Algoma Mills, Ont. was charged with:

  • Driving while suspended, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 6, 2018.
