Traffic stop leads to suspended driving charge

ESPANOLA - On Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at approximately 2:04 p.m., an officer from the Manitoulin-Espanola detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17 in the Township of Sables-Spanish River, Ont.

Police conducted a traffic stop and investigation revealed the driver was suspended.

As a result, Walter Duncan, 55 years of age from Oakville, Ont. has been charged with:

  • Driving while suspended, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on March 29, 2018.
