Police say a man who had just been released from custody was arrested at a residence in Elliot Lake on charges of breaching his bail conditions.

The East Algoma OPP say on Friday at around 11:30 a.m. they made an arrest on Laprairie Crescent.

Police said they were called to the residence in relation to a man who had just been released on conditions he "not to be at that location or be around the people inside".

The man attempted to evade police but was arrested a short time after trying to leave the off-limits residence, police said in a news release.

Daniel Lozier, 38, of Elliot Lake, was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Sault Ste. Marie on June 3.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Lozier is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
