Elliot Lake man accused of numerous break and enters

On June 26, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit arrested a male (allegedly) responsible for numerous residential break and enter's in Elliot Lake, Ont. The OPP's East Algoma Crime Unit and uniform members were also involved with the investigation. 

On June 26, 2018, at approximately 1 p.m., police received a call to a residential break and enter on Roman Avenue. Shortly after, a male was caught by police attempting to break in to a residence on Hirshhorn Avenue. The male was found to be in possession of break-in tools. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

Dale Boyer, 44 years of age, of Elliot Lake, Ont., was charged with:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence (two counts,) contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC,
  • Possession of break in instruments, contrary to section 351(1) of the CC,
  • Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River, Ont. on June 27, 2018.
