The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person in relation to a prior theft from a retail store on Ontario Avenue in Elliot Lake.

On June 8, 2024, store staff reported that a female was caught on security video stealing numerous items and then departed the store without paying. Total value of the products was approximately $1,000. The female was later identified and subsequently arrested.   

Jennifer Rees, 43 years old of Elliot Lake, was charged with: theft under $5,000 - shoplifting.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Aug. 15, 2024.
