Algoma Public Health is reporting two new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region.
Both cases are from Sault Ste. Marie and area.
Both Case #141, tested on Jan. 15, and Case #142, tested on Jan. 16, are from close contact.
Close contact means the person acquired their infection through close contact with a known confirmed case.
Both individuals are currently self-isolating.
There are currently 37 active cases in the Algoma region.
There have been 12 reported cases this week, down from 28 last week.
Algoma regions with COVID-19 cases reported in the past 14 days include:
- Central and East Algoma
- Sault Ste. Marie and area
- Elliot Lake and area
