Kindergarten to Grade 3 students at École Sainte-Anne in Spanish recently got off to an enthusiastic start on their great reading adventure.

After meeting a virtual pilot, the students went on a treasure hunt to find everything they would need for their travels. At the school airport, they had to pass through security and get their suitcase, their explorer's notebook as well as their first reading challenge.

The students will travel to a new destination as they progress through the reading levels by completing the various challenges. Along the way, they will also be able to earn the accessories they need to be well prepared for the next destination, based on their daily reading efforts.

To help students keep track of their reading progress, a large world map featuring different animals from the countries to be visited is displayed in the school. When a student changes levels, their avatar will move to the next destination on the large world map on the wall. Their first destination: the ocean!

This challenge is a great way to provide differentiated learning for all students as the levels are based on ability. They are more than ready to continue their adventure and successfully navigate the world of reading.
