OPP will be hosting a three-hour seminar on road safety for those using mobility scooters.

Community safety officer Constable Phil Young said the three-hour presentation will deal with “rules of the road and road safety,” for those operating three-and-four-wheel scooters. In addition, there will be information about two-wheel scooters and motor assisted bicycles available to those planning to attend.

Const. Young said the presentation is for those already using scooters in Elliot Lake and area or those considering purchasing and using the equipment for better mobility.

He said he is also anticipating a presentation from a city representative who will be available to answer questions pertaining to the use of scooters on city streets and sidewalks.

Beranyi Scooters will also display several scooter models during the presentation which will be held on Friday, April 26 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Collins Hall.
