On Oct. 11, students and staff at École secondaire catholique La Renaissance (Espanola) held a homeless-for-night event. In addition to spending the night in shelters made from tarps and cardboard boxes, students collected cans of food and monetary donations to support the Espanola food bank. Through this awareness activity, the students had an unforgettable experience that will enable them to become better citizens.

“Our awareness activity was very successful. La Renaissance students were able to change the world by becoming homeless for a night,” stated France Ducharme, principal at ÉSC La Renaissance. “I am very proud of my students’ Catholic leadership through this valuable experience that will enable them to become better citizens.”
