Ontario Provincial Police say three people have been arrested and charged after multiple drug warrants were executed today in Elliot Lake.
The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $200,000, according to a news release from East Algoma OPP.
Police said they seized approximately 78 grams of suspected cocaine, 457 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 175 grams of suspected fentanyl, digital scales, packaging material (dime bags), cutting agents, nunchucks, a machete, cash, numerous laptops, and seven cell phones.
Police said the search warrants were executed at apartments on Mississauga Avenue and Elizabeth Walk.
The OPP's Community Street Crime Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Tactics and Rescue Unit, East Algoma Crime Unit, and uniform members were involved in the investigation.
Jordan Chasse, 38, of Elliot Lake was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
Claire Oelmann, 29, of Toronto was charged with: Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine.
Both are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 11.
Tetomar Brown, 39, of Toronto was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime - under $5000
- Mischief - obstructs, interrupts, or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
Brown was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on May 23.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
