A woman from Serpent River First Nation has been charged with driving impaired for the second time in less than three months.
At around noon Monday, the employee of a retail store on Hillside Drive South called police to report a female driver who appeared to be incoherent and impaired.
OPP found the suspect vehicle, a small grey SUV, on Spine Road.
Officers say the suspect gave them a false name and had cannabis readily available.
Myra Southwind, 47, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - drugs
- Obstruct peace officer
- Driving while under suspension
- Having care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
In addition, the vehicle was impounded.
OPP say the same person was charged with driving while impaired by drugs on September 28.
On that day, OPP say numerous complaints came in about a woman driving a small grey SUV erratically on Paris Drive.
According to police, witnesses had said the woman “looked to be high on drugs and almost hit them.”
The suspect was arrested at a residence on Tokyo Crescent.
