Sault Police have charged a local teacher with sexual assault and sexual interference following an incident that occurred on February 12 of this year.
A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service alleges that 73-year-old Mario Vallieres, while filling in as a supply teacher at Notre Dame du Sault, assaulted a student who was under the age of 16 years.
Vallieres was arrested on April 7.
He is scheduled to appear in court on May 10 to face charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.
