Police launch dedicated tip line in search for missing Manitoulin Island woman

Juanita 'Winnie' Migwans was last seen Oct. 2 in M'Chigeeng First Nation

Police have launched a dedicated tip line in the ongoing search for 30-year-old Juanita 'Winnie' Migwans, who was last seen Oct. 2 in M'Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island.

Migwans was reported missing on Oct. 7, triggering an extensive search by The United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin Anishnaabe Police (UCCM Police) and the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.

Announced today in an OPP Facebook post, the new tip line is 1-833-941-9010. Anyone with information is urged to call.

Migwans was last seen walking in M'Chigeeng on Highway 551 and Oakhill Drive on Oct. 2 at approximately 10:30 a.m. She was wearing a light-coloured jacket and dark-coloured pants.

She is described as an Indigenous female, with a slim build, approximately 5-foot-6 (168 cm), 110 pounds (50 kgs) with brown hair and brown eyes.
