Police arrested and charged a person after mischief and harassment reported.
On Jan. 31, 2025, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a person. That person was released on conditions which they later breached. The same person was arrested again on Feb. 2 after [allegedly] plowing snow around the complainant's car at their place of work and blocking their driveway at their residence.
The 55-year-old man from Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with:
- Criminal Harassment - repeatedly follow, repeatedly communicate with, watch and beset, threatening conduct
- Mischief - interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property - under $5000
- Mischief - obstructs, interrupts or interferes with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment, or operation of property
- Fail to comply with undertaking
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on Feb. 3, 2025.
The OPP will not be releasing the name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
