Harassment and threats lead to multiple charges for local resident: OPP

Police say the 41-year-old was charged for the same thing in May of 2020

The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest and charge same person for same offences in neighbourhood.

On Feb. 9, 2025, numerous complainants reported a multitude of harassment and threats by a known person in a neighbourhood in Elliot Lake. The complaints were the same as what transpired in May 2020, where the person was arrested and charged with 16 offences at that time.  

After another extensive police investigation, the person was arrested again on Feb. 19, 2025.

Randolph (Randy) Kunze, 41-years-old, from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Criminal Harassment - 12 counts
  • Mischief - obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property - 11 counts
  • Uttering Threats - cause death or bodily harm - 4 counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bail Court in Blind River on Feb. 19, 2025.
