Entering and exiting grocery store leads to an arrest

A 33-year-old was charged with failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

On March 12, a suspicious person was observed entering and exiting a local grocery store on Hillside Drive South in the City of Elliot Lake.

At approximately 6 p.m., the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an individual who appeared to be impaired, going in and out of the store and approaching white cars in the parking lot. The person had left the scene on foot before police arrived.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., police located the individual. A query revealed that the person was wanted, and an arrest was made.

Cody Burman, 33, from Elliot Lake was charged with two counts of failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court.

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on March 13.
