While the community of Elliot Lake was preparing for a celebration of the upcoming Kraft Hockeyville game and practice in Sudbury, vandals were preparing to strike the building in the hearts and minds of the community.
Sometime overnight on Thursday, September 26, five suspects broke into the Elliot Lake Centennial Arena and caused about $50,000 in damage, reports East Algoma OPP.
Once inside, the suspects used fire extinguishers to damage the canteen and kitchen and they used machinery to damage a centre support beam.
The OPP is asking anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122 and reference incident #E241293954 or contact Crime Stoppers.
