It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Bob at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the age of 82. Bob passed away peacefully, his loving wife Susan by his side.

Cherished husband of Susan Swan (nee Bamberger) for 27 years.
Loving and proud father of his son Corey Swan and Adam Swan.
He is survived by 8 beloved siblings Rose Ann Barker (Dave predeceased), Merilyn Nicks (Gerry predeceased), Bryan Swan, Linda Coulombe (Dana), Randy Swan (Lynne predeceased), Mike Swan (Carolyn), Glenn Swan (Sheri), Pam Swan.
He is survived by many nephews and nieces.

Bob was predeceased by his mother, Ellen Eliza Swan (nee Beitz)(1991), and his father, Stanley Roy Swan (2003).
Predeceased by nephews Matthew Swan and Patrick Nicks.

Bob was born in Guelph. He retired from his job as a welder at Guelph Tool & Die in 2008. He and Susan moved to Elliot Lake and happily made Elliot Lake their retirement home for the last 15 years. Bob was a gentle and quiet man so he enjoyed the peaceful life in Elliot Lake. Bob and Susan attended Mass at Ste. Bernadette Parish in Elliot Lake every Saturday. A real highlight for Bob was in 2001 when he, with Susan, took his first plane ride ever and travelled to Israel with their church group.

He was excited that he got to walk where Jesus walked. Bob donated monthly to the London Health Sciences Foundation after receiving a kidney transplant in London in 2016. Bob was a caring and loving husband always telling Susan, when she would tell him that she loved him, that he loved her… more! Bob always looked forward to the trips home to Guelph for the annual Swan Family BBQ every August and for Christmas each year. He loved and treasured his sons Corey and Adam and would often say how proud he was of each of them. He was so happy to see them and share a meal with them on visits home.

Bob loved and cared about each one of his brothers and sisters and enjoyed spending time with them when he could. Bob also liked taking the ferry every summer to South Bruce Peninsula to visit best friends Annabelle and Jim. He will be greatly missed. A loving husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend… Forever in our hearts.

We wish to thank Bob’s family physician, Dr. Andrew Purzner, and the nurses at St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake for all their special care given to Bob. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Health Sciences North in Sudbury for all their excellent care. Special thank you to nurse Kim for her compassionate care for Bob during the last few days of his life and for the comfort she provided at the moment of Bob’s passing.

We find peace and comfort knowing our beloved Bob is safe in the Lord’s care while we await the day when we are all together again.
1 Corinthians 2:9 No eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him.

Cremation has taken place.
