July 6, 1958 – August 27, 2024
Passed away peacefully at NSHN-Blind River surrounded by his loving family at the age of 66. Gene is reunited with his parents Ernest and Julia Morningstar and siblings Cecile Morningstar, Bobby Morningstar and Diane Boyer. Leaves behind siblings Carol Bobiwash (late Louis), Eric Morningstar (Lisa), Gail Archambault (late Gerry), George Morningstar (Allison) and Patrick Morningstar. Will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his fur baby Susie.
Gene was a simple man who didn’t ask a lot from anyone, but you were guaranteed to get that smirky smile. We will miss seeing him sitting in his chair on the deck giving us a wave or a friendly hello.
The family wishes to thank the staff and PSW’s at NSHN-Blind River and Red Pine Lodge for their kindness and compassion.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gene’s life at Mississauga First Nation Community Centre, 154 Village Road, MFN on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, beginning at 11am until time of service on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 10am. Burial St. Edwards Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
