In Memory of
Joy Annie Landry
1927 – 2024

We regret to announce the passing of Joy Landry on November 28, 2024, at the age of 96. Born in Timmins, Ontario on December 24, 1927, the second daughter to Dorothy Albena Masters and Reginald Webber, Joy was loved by her six children Kathryn (Patrick Curran), Joni (Perry Poulin), Jim, Patricia (Carlo Simone), Mike (Christa Murdoch) and Christine (Alain Lavoie); her sisters June Cushing (predeceased), Betty Kennelly, her brother Bob Webber, and her grandchildren – Jayme & Lindsay (Harris), Emily & Joe (Poulin), Billy & Alyssa (Landry), Jon and Jesse (Simone), Kandace, Allan and Julia (Landry), River Lavoie and her great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joy was married for 60 years to Bill Landry who predeceased her in 2009. She worked in the Admin office at the Elliot Lake Secondary School for over 20 years until she retired in 1992. She was appreciated and loved by the students and staff alike. Joy was extremely active well into her 90’s and enjoyed playing beanbag baseball, shuffleboard, going to the theatre and cheering on her friends at karaoke. Her summers were spent at the cottage swimming, picking berries, crafting, knitting and entertaining her family and friends. Joy also had a love for scratch tickets and dreamed of winning the jackpot. She never did, but she sure had a lot of fun trying.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Gentle Shephard Christian Church, 2 Ottawa Ave, Elliot Lake. All are welcome.
