September 5, 1939 – January 24, 2025

Surrounded by family, Colin passed peacefully at the Kemptville Hospital in his 86th year. He is once again with the love of his life, June who he spent 56 wonderful years with. Loving and protective father of Krista Gosselin-St Jules (Shayne), James (Stephanie), Tiffany Vandenberg (Michael), Sean (Troy) and LeeAnn Gosselin (Brandy). Cherished Pepé of Matthew Gosselin (Fay), Alyssa Gosselin, Ryan Lediett (Victoria) and Calista Gosselin (Sid). Proud Great Pepé of Matthew Gosselin. Fondly remembered by his brother Raymond Gosselin (late Cathy), sisters Carol Ann Malone (late Jerry) and Sue Cecile (late Pierre), brother-in-law Robert Baccega (Diane) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Teaching brought Colin and June to Blind River in 1968. He was recruited to Blind River as the Head of the Physical Education Department at Blind River District High School, now known as W.C. Eaket. He created and ran a very successful and inclusive intramural program as well as an athletic committee, made up of students. Together these programs were integral in molding the future youth of our communities. He coached and refereed every sport and is respectfully remembered for his love and devotion to basketball. To this day he is remembered as “Coach” or “Mr. G.”.

Colin was active in his community and always willing to lend a hand when or where needed. He was a 25-year long volunteer and past president of the Blind River Food Bank. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He gave his time driving people in the community to their medical appointments.

Most of all, Colin was a devoted family man who unconditionally loved and supported his wife, children and grandchildren. He was deeply rooted in his Catholic faith and continued to nurture his spiritual life until his passing. We will forever miss his full belly laugh, watching the Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Lions games, morning coffee talks and his quick wit.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Kemptville District Hospital for their amazing care and compassion. They also want to thank Dr. Deverall and supporting staff at NSHN-Blind River for their care over the years and a special thank you to James and Mary Meechan for their unwavering friendship, Colin thought very highly of his best friends.

If desired, the family appreciates donations in memory of Colin to the Heart and Stroke Foundation www.heartandstroke.ca or the Blind River Food Bank.
