Janet passed away peacefully in her home in her 79th year. She is happily reunited with her beloved husband Timothy DeVos (d.1992). Daughter of Bertha (nee Laplante) and John Folz. Devoted mother of Jenifer Bow (David) and Julian (Tricia). Very proud Nana of Timothy Bow, Amelia Bow (Adam), Megan DeVos (Maddy) and Joseph DeVos. Special Nana of Natasha Murray. Cherished sister of Loretta Pilon (Lou), Mary Schmidgall (late Arnold), Reggie Folz (Sylvia), Carol Lamorie (Gary) and Bunny Baird (late John). Predeceased by siblings Les Folz, Jackie Folz, Anna Rajotte, Hazel Pilon, Doris Wilson, Jean Elapani and Michael Folz.
She will be deeply missed by numerous nieces and nephews, her CWL and Parish family as well as her many friends.
For many years Janet was a stay-at-home Mom and Nana. She was a woman of faith and prayed daily her Rosary. She is well known for her musical talent, playing the guitar and singing with her sisters Carol and Bunny. She enjoyed cooking and often fed many people in her community. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and made beautiful blankets and washcloths to donate to the local churches for their raffles. We will forever miss her delicious cooking, especially her baked beans.
Special thanks to Sister Diane who brought her communion and kept her connected to her church family. We’d also like to thank Pam Clement and Wilfred Lewis who visited her regularly.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. James the Greater Parish, 44 Lakeside Avenue, Blind River on Friday, August 23, 2024 beginning at 10am and followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery. Father Clarence officiating. Light luncheon will be held in the church basement following services and burial.
