April 29, 1951 – July 9, 2024
We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Eleanor, at home with her beloved husband Wayne by her side. Cherished wife of Wayne for 54 years. Loving and supportive mother of Tammy (Sean) of Echo Bay and Jason (Mandy) of Amherstburg. Proud grandmother of Maddie and Cameron and nan of Connor and Austin. Treasured sister of Bruce Ferguson (Darlene) and stepsister of Shirley Buchanan (Bryan). Fondly remembered by many, including her in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Ruth (nee Bird) Ferguson and her siblings Marion Boyer (late Dave), Anne Keating (late Jerry), Ellen McLeod (late Archie), Almarie Quinton (Larry) and Alfred Ferguson (late Doreen).
Eleanor was very social and enjoyed chatting with everyone including those she knew and those she didn’t.
She was a fiercely devoted grandmother. She and Wayne proudly attended every hockey, soccer and gymnastic competition they could, usually displaying the team colours and ringing the cowbell.
Family was very important to Eleanor. She was extremely supportive and always willing to listen. She loved having her family together and could always be counted on to bring dessert.
We will miss her dearly, especially her hugs.
