The Blind River Rotary Club has created a “Welcome Package” for newcomers to the community.
The concept was that with so many new people moving to the area, the package would help them to know the local goods and services available in and around Blind River.
In creating the package, the Rotary Club sent letters to over 130 local merchants and organizations for their support.
The packages contain approximately 65 items such as a welcoming letter from the mayor, coupons, pens, key chains, water bottles, shopping bags, brochures, business cards and more.
There was no charge for businesses and organizations to be included in the program.
“It was simply the Rotary Club of Blind River giving back to the community which has given us so much through the years,” said club president Bob McAllister.
The bags will now be distributed to new residents by local Real Estate Agents as properties are purchased.
