Kaedyn McArthur tallied twice, including picking up the game-winner in the third period, as the Timmins Rock went on to slip past the Elliot Lake Vikings 4-2 in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League afternoon affair at Massey & District Community Arena.

Elliot Lake took the lead 11:50 into the contest when Mason Windsor chipped in a rebound that Timmins netminder Dryden Riley could not contain off a Charlie Crump chance.

The Rock came right back to tie it though as Jack Kelly picked off a pass in his own zone then raced down the ice where he battled and eventually banked one in on Vikings’ starter Ryder Lally from a difficult angle.

Timmins then went on front before the first intermission compliments of McArthur at 17:17, who took a pass and drove down the left side before cutting in a tucking a backhand by Lally for his ninth tally of the season.

Heading to the second stanza, the Vikings drew level Anthony Bertrand ripped in a rebound off a spinning Nate Dugwell attempt from in close.

A couple of minutes into the third period, the Rock pressured a turnover which led to Reece Liu setting up McArthur of the left side where he roofed it for his second of the day and 10th overall.

Sam Gallagher then wrapped up the win for Timmins with a late empty netter, from long range, just before time expired.

With the outcome, the Rock improve to 15-7-0-0 overall and the narrow defeats sees the Vikings drop to 5-13-0-0.
