A group of students recently completed a three-week home improvement and maintenance course through Cambrian College’s Espanola site.

During the course in the specially outfitted trades trailers, students were taught skills such as building walls, installing drywall and tile, and performing basic electrical and plumbing installations.

The students constructed a bathroom and a full practice wall, with window, to be used by the Espanola Fire Department to train firefighters on how to safely enter and exit a window during a fire.

Supplies for the course were donated by the Espanola Home Hardware Building Centre.
