Nov. 1: COVID-19 Outbreak at St. Joseph's Manor concluded
St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) would like to advise that the COVID-19 outbreak at our Long-Term Care Home, St. Joseph’s Manor, has ended, as declared by Algoma Public Health on Nov. 1, 2022. Along with Essential Care Partners, St. Joseph’s Manor will now be welcoming back general visitors as of Nov. 2, 2022.
SJGHEL would like to remind the public that there are several measures you can take to protect yourself and others from contracting infectious illnesses:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based sanitizer.
- Ensure full immunization and booster dose(s) for those who are eligible.
- Wear a mask in public spaces.
- If you are not feeling well, stay home and rest or contact your primary health care provider.
- Observe social distancing and respiratory etiquette.
- Reduce indoor air pollution via adequate ventilation where possible.

St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) has lifted all COVID restrictions to visitors to the third floor of the hospital and long-term nursing home St. Joseph’s Manor starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 2.
“Along with Essential Care Partners, St. Joseph’s Manor will now be welcoming back general visitors,” the hospital announced today.
SJGHEL continues to urge visitors coming to its facilities to ensure full immunization and booster shots, wear a mask in public spaces, if you not feeling well, stay home and rest or contact your primary health care provider, observe social distancing and reduce indoor air pollution via adequate ventilation where possible.
