Special council today: Decisions needed about winter work

Staff report: Accelerating work in winter estimated to cost additional $350k to $600k, ‘depending on a great many things’

A special council meeting has been called for 7 p.m. today at city hall.

The urgent decisions required are about the arena renovation.

  • Excavation and Winter Heat and Hoarding
  • Electrical System Update

In addition to the winter mitigation costs estimate, the report requests $313,000 for shoring, equipment rentals, and an electrical service cabinet.

Additional expense to mitigate winter conditions

The report explains options for proceeding with outdoor work during winter.

Estimated additional costs to proceed during winter months are "$350,000.00 to $600,000.00, depending upon a great many things."
