UPDATE: Snow squall warning now in effect for Elliot Lake

Snow squall warning replaces snow squall watch for:
   Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake, Ont. 

Current details:
Lake effect snow squalls beginning this evening.

Hazards:
Additional snowfall accumulations possibly exceeding 20 cm.
Poor visibility at times in heavy snow and local blowing snow.

Timing:
This evening through Saturday night.

Discussion:
Lake effect snow squalls off of Lake Superior will move back into the region this evening. Any snow squalls are expected to remain west of the town of Elliot Lake.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
