Huron Shores residents are being advised of a road closure set to begin on Monday.

Starting Feb. 24, road work will begin on Chevis Road near Iron Bridge in preparation for blasting.

"This is an important step toward improving the roadway. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a safe and efficient process," the municipality said in a release.

Motorists can expect traffic to be reduced to one lane and are advised to expect delays and plan accordingly.

There will also be temporary full road closures with traffic stopped during blasting.

Crews will be working in the area so drivers are asked to slow down and give them space.

Drivers are also urged to follow all signage and flaggers to ensure everyone’s safety.

"We understand this may be an inconvenience, but these improvements will help create a safer, more reliable road for everyone," the municipality said. "Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
