ElliotLakeToday and Village Media would like to retract a story that ran Thursday, July 8: Counselling centre's office closed without explanation. The story erroneously characterized a planned, temporary closure at the Counselling Centre of East Algoma as being 'without explanation.'

In fact, Thursday's closure took place for the purpose of a staff professional development day, which Robbyn Zwaigenbaum, CCEA's executive director, describes as a much-needed retreat focusing on the increasing needs of the community.

Clients were notified in advance and the closure and its purpose were included in CCEA's publicly-available online calendar.

ElliotLakeToday regrets the publication of this story and would like to apologize to CCEA and its staff for any unnecessary hardship its publication may have caused.
