Elliot Lake's Community Christmas Concert returns this year Dec. 16.

The holiday spirit is set to shine bright this December as the Community Christmas Concert returns for its third year, bringing joy and talent to the stage at Collins Hall, 120 Hillside Dr. North, in Elliot Lake.

Scheduled for Dec. 13 at 6 p.m., this local event promises an evening filled with music, dance, and community spirit, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

The concert will feature an impressive lineup of local talent, including performances from the VFJ Bands, the Villageois choirs, and the Fatima School choirs. DanceWorks will showcase stunning choreography, while the Elliot Lake Young Voices (ELYV) will fill the hall with their melodious tunes.

Renowned local artist Rick Gingras will also take the stage, alongside the Jewels and Gents choir, ensuring a diverse and entertaining program for attendees of all ages.

Tickets for the event are priced at a modest $15 for general seating, making it an affordable outing for families and friends. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item, if possible.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the DanceWorks studio or North Shore Advertising, and will also be available at the door on the night of the concert.

This year’s concert is particularly special, as it marks the return of a cherished community tradition that was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent loss of the civic centre.

Christine Brunet, the studio owner and director of DanceWorks, emphasized the importance of the event for both children and seniors in the community. “So many of our community children need something to celebrate and a place to showcase their talents, and our senior population wants to get out and enjoy this season,” she noted. “We’re excited to continue this event moving forward for everyone in our community.”

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the North Shore Parents Association of Dance (NSPAD), ensuring that local dance programs can thrive. Additionally, all food donations collected during the event will go to the Elliot Lake Food bank, reinforcing the concert’s commitment to supporting those in need.

Attendees can also look forward to a range of delicious treats and refreshments from the canteen, sponsored by the NSPAD. Please note that the canteen will operate on a cash-only basis.

Raffle tickets and a 50/50 draw will be available, offering attendees the chance to win prizes while supporting a great cause.

With the stage set for an unforgettable evening, the Community Christmas Concert is sure to uplift spirits and foster connections within the Elliot Lake community.
