A large-scale construction project adjacent to Panel Mine Road means it will be closed beginning April 3, says the City of Elliot Lake.
"Please be aware, Panel Mine Road will be subject to road closure to the public starting April 3, 2023, in order to ensure the safety of residents during a large-scale construction project that will impact the areas adjacent to the road," says a release from the city.
The road is expected to be closed for several weeks.
"Both Staff and the contractor are sensitive to the fact that there is likely to be an increased demand on the road in late spring as the public tries to access camping grounds," says the city. "It is anticipated that the project will have sufficiently progressed to allow access by that time."
When it's safe to do so, city staff will coordinate with construction crews to re-open the road and post notices on the city website and social media accounts.
