One new wildfire was confirmed today on the final day of the province's legislated fire season. Parry Sound 11 is a small fire located 500 metres northeast of Foster Island on Georgian Bay. It is currently being held.
There are two active wildland fires in the Northeast Region; one is being held and one is being observed.
The fire hazard is low across the region. Areas between Carleton Place, Tweed and Kawartha Lakes have a moderate fire hazard.

There was one new wildland fire confirmed in the Northeast Region today:
- Parry Sound 11 (PAR011) is a 0.2 hectare fire that is located on a small island 500 metres northeast of Foster Island on Georgian Bay. This fire is currently being held.
At the time of this update, there are two active wildland fires in the Northeast Region; 1 is being held and one is being observed.
The fire hazard is low across the Northeast Region. Areas of between Carleton Place, Tweed and Kawartha Lakes have a moderate fire hazard.

Follow Ontario’s Outdoor Burning Regulations
This fall, Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services would like to remind the public to use caution when performing any outdoor burning. In order to dispose of yard waste and woody debris, we encourage you to use methods such as composting or using your local landfill. If you must burn, follow Ontario’s Outdoor Burning Regulations.
Fires are to be ignited no sooner than two hours before sunset and are to be extinguished no later than two hours after sunrise. Always have tools/water adequate to contain the fire at the site. Know the rules for safe outdoor burning; consult the full set of Outdoor Burning Regulations.
