Northern Ontario Angels (NOA), the region’s premier angel investor network, is proud to celebrate its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of fostering entrepreneurship, supporting innovation, connecting investors with promising businesses, and fuelling economic growth across Northern Ontario.
Since its inception, NOA has facilitated over $250 million in investments from its angels, supporting the growth of businesses in key sectors such as mining, technology, health sciences, and sustainable industries. By bridging the gap between accredited angel investors and high-potential startups, NOA has played a pivotal role in driving innovation and job creation in the region.
“Reaching this milestone is a testament to the strength of our investor network, the entrepreneurial spirit of Northern Ontario, and our strategic partners across the region, namely FedNor,” said Ian Lane, Executive Director of Northern Ontario Angels. “Over the past 20 years, we have collaborated to build a strong ecosystem that empowers businesses and attracts strategic investment, ensuring long-term prosperity for the region.”
To commemorate this milestone, NOA will be hosting a 20th Anniversary Celebration at The Chanterelle in Thunder Bay on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Attendees can look forward to engaging fireside chats with industry leaders, valuable networking opportunities, and a special commemorative video highlighting NOA’s impact over the past 20 years.
“This event is a chance to celebrate the impact NOA has had over the past 20 years and to look ahead at the opportunities that lie before us,” said Dan Hollingsworth, Board Chair of Northern Ontario Angels. “We are excited to bring together our investors, entrepreneurs, and partners to honour our successes and continue building a strong future for the region.”
As NOA looks to the future, its mission remains steadfast: to connect accredited angel investors with high-growth potential ventures, strengthening the economic fabric of Northern Ontario.
Partnership opportunities for NOA’s 20th anniversary events are now available. Additionally, NOA will be launching a digital magazine highlighting success stories from across Northern Ontario, with advertising opportunities available for purchase.
