The Elliot Lake Red Wings made the trek to the Blind River Community Centre Tuesday night where they lost a game to the Beavers.

The 4-2 loss came on the heels of an announcement hours earlier that Red Wings acting general manager Paul Noad has taken over as the new team owner.

Noad heads the management group, which has been operating the Elliot Lake Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League club since last season.

Noad and his people have paid off the Jr. A team's debts.

In the Tuesday night game, the Beavers opened the scoring as Thomas Dimoulas beat Cameron Smith at 7:12 followed by teammate Evan Fraccaro, who popped one past Smith at 16:25.

With the Red Wings down 2-0 in the second period, Alex Antoine got on the score sheet for the visitors, beating Beavers netminder Gavin Disano at 13:19.

Blind River made it 3-1 as Ethan Pegg scored on the power play at 17:43.

At 3:07 of the third, Blind River extended the lead thanks to a power-play goal from Joshua Thompson.

Elliot Lake's Evan Dantas put one by Disano at 18:23 to round out the scoring.

Smith suffered the loss between the pipes for the Wings, stopping 33 shots.

Disano stopped 25 shots in the win for the Beavers.

The loss drops the Red Wings' record to 3-5-0-0, while the Beavers improves to 6-1-0-0.

The Red Wings will be on the road for their fourth straight game when they travel to Sault, Mich. on Friday night to face against the Soo Eagles. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
