Paris Plaza just got a whole lot busier. Your Dollar Store With More is officially open for business.
On Dec. 17, store owner Helen Lefebvre and the store's General Manager Michelle Gagne opened their doors for Elliot Lake residents. With minor setbacks delaying their opening a few extra days, Gagne said that since the doors have opened, positive feedback has been pouring in.
"We have been receiving a lot of positive feedback from shoppers," she explained. "We also want feedback from the community on what they would like to see sold here."
So far, the store has seen some steady business, with residents proclaiming their delight at the new store.
Excited shopper Tammy Weedon said she found items at the new store that would have cost her a lot more elsewhere and sometimes, the specific items are not available in town.
"I found some stuff that would have cost me a lot anywhere else in town," she said. "So I'm happy with the new store."
Yvette Duquette said she was pleased with the services she received and was excited to check out the new store.
"We were pleased with it as the service was wonderful and a lot of different things available," she said.
The new store has items ranging from $1 to $20.
According to Gagne and Lefebvre, feedback about their art supplies aisle has been outstanding.
"We had one lady come in and look at the art aisle and was amazed with the different supplies we have," said Lefebvre. "This seems to be people's favourite area."
New things Lefebvre said she hopes to bring to the store is a catalogue for special orders.
"For people who want to throw weddings or birthday parties, we're hoping to get a catalogue up front for orders," she explained. "We're also gearing up for birthday party supplies and loot bags at good prices. If you're planning a party, come in and ask staff for help. We are catering to help people."
Lefebvre also said residents in the area are happy to see a new store in the area.
"People are telling us they're happy to have a place to shop outside their door," said Lefebvre. "They're also saying we have good prices."
Lefebvre explained their grand opening will happen when they expand, hopefully by Spring.
