Michael Mantha is announcing that he will run to be re-elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Algoma-Manitoulin as an independent candidate.
“It has been the honour and privilege of my life to serve the people of Algoma-Manitoulin as their representative,” Mantha said. “I am running in this election to continue working for Northern Ontario.”
This snap election comes during a time of uncertainty and turmoil in Ontario. Northern Ontario continues to suffer from a lack of investment in everything from healthcare to highways to housing. Mantha says he plans to be singularly focused on the issues facing Northerners.
“The North faces unique challenges, and successive governments have not wanted to address them in a real way,” said Mantha. “We need an experienced voice in the Legislative Assembly whose only goal is to work, day and night, for what our communities need to grow and thrive.”
“Over the last 13 years I have worked hard to be that voice for Algoma-Manitoulin and Northern Ontario, and there is much more work to be done.”
