Lotto Max ups jackpot limit to $80 million

TORONTO – Lotto Max’s maximum jackpot is jumping to $80 million.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation on Wednesday announced the twice-weekly draw’s cap will immediately increase by $10 million, from its current $70-million ceiling, meaning Friday’s draw will be for a record-breaking $75 million.

There will also be 12 $1-million Maxmillions prizes up for grabs.

No winning ticket for Tuesday night’s $70-million draw were sold, though a $1-million prize was sold in Thornhill, Ont. and a $262,318 second prize ticket was sold in Toronto.

South of the border, a ticket purchased in Texas won the $800-million Megamillions draw.
