In partnership with College Boréal, grade 7 and 8 students at École catholique Georges Vanier learn about a variety of interesting professions.
Once a month they explore a new career through hands-on learning experiences in the classroom. In January, they discovered numerous careers in the paramedical field.
This opportunity enabled students to develop new skills in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). They put their tactical skills to the test by performing resuscitation techniques and chest compressions on CPR mannikins.
To make things more challenging, they enjoyed a friendly competition to see which teams could obtain the best results by implementing the techniques learned. This was an excellent way to introduce students to the paramedical field, potential future careers and life saving techniques.
