GALLERY: Thessalon celebrates Community Days in carnival style

The town's annual parade, kids zone, and duck race drew hundreds downtown on Saturday; Family Ball Tournament wraps up on Monday

A carnival-themed parade delighted hundreds along Main Street in Thessalon this afternoon as residents continued Community Days celebrations over the hot August long weekend.

Located an hour east of the Sault, the friendly town situated on Lake Huron has all sorts of games and activities lined up until Monday — perhaps none more notable than the annual Family Ball Tournament.

Following today's parade, attendees headed over to Peace Park to enjoy the Kids Zone, as well as a vendor show, face painting, carnival games and an assortment of food and refreshments.

The community's popular duck race that runs along the river through the heart of Thessalon was also a success this year. Laura Hernden was named the winner of the race's 50/50 draw.
