After it was phased out last year, Elliot Lake's highly successful Age Friendly Delivers program is making a temporary return.
The move comes after the provincial government announced a return to modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen COVID-19 safety protocols.
The City of Elliot Lake has announced as of Thursday, eligible seniors can sign up for the program in which city employees purchase of their groceries and deliver them free to their doorsteps.
The city says, "This service is for those who do not have a local contact or family to shop and deliver essential items like food and hygiene products."
To register for the service call 705-261-0729 or visit the website to order online.
You'll need to submit your name, address, telephone number and payment preference to sign up.
Age Friendly Delivers is a zero contact service. The grocery order will be left at your door along with a receipt after it's purchased at your choice of either Lyle's No Frills or Foodland.
Orders are limited to 20 essential items and will be billed back to clients within a few days of delivery. You must be over 70 years old and live in Elliot Lake to use the service.
