Elliot Lake City Council has approved spending $250,000 to buy two pieces of land off Milliken Mine Road from the land purchase and sales reserve.

The seller is Rejean Cyr Logging Ltd. and the land is located near Highway 108 across from the Elliot Lake boat launch off of Milliken Mine Road, at the base of Beaver Mountain.

The city's Economic Development Department will begin to pursue opportunities once the purchase is completed on Dec. 3.

The purchase will be funded from the land sales and purchases reserve that had an opening 2021 balance of $445,528.

The sale was approved at the virtual city council Monday night on a unanimous vote.
