Blind River treasurer Sue Dent has received a prestigious award from the Municipal Finance Officers’ Association (MFOA’s) for her work with the organization and the community.

Mayor Sally Hagman recognized Dent for her award at council’s meeting Monday evening.

Dent was one of two recipients of the “Engagement Award” this year. She has been employed with the town for three years.

“The award is presented to members who actively participate in offering a strong northern perspective and encouragement to others in the community to learn more about municipal finance,” Hagman told council. “Sue on behalf of council and the residents of Blind River congratulations.”

This prestigious honour recognizes the invaluable contribution she has made within the municipal finance sector, the municipality and to our organization, a news release from the MFOA stated.
