Mariska Lamothe, a soon-to-be graduate of École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River, stood out significantly throughout high school for her unparalleled commitment and Francophone pride.

An accessible Francophone role model both in her school and in the Blind River community, Mariska was CSC Nouvelon student trustee for the districts of Algoma and Manitoulin for two years.

In addition, this student exercised her leadership as Prime Minister of the ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord Student Parliament.

Mariska stands out for her leadership as a member of her school's sports teams. Since Grade 9, she has been active within a number of school teams, including basketball, volleyball, badminton and tennis.

In light of her leadership, passion and work ethic, Mariska has often been chosen to serve as captain by her teammates and coaches.

Mariska will be pursuing her studies in kinesiology at Waterloo University. We wish her every success in her new adventure.
