TOWN OF BLIND RIVER

Mayor Sally Hagman, Councillor Betty Ann Dunbar, and CAO/Clerk Katie Scott met with Ontario’s Ministers in Toronto this week at ROMA.
The Blind River team was thrilled to meet with The Hon. Kinga Surma, Minister of Infrastructure of Ontario. Minister Surma’s team was happy to be shown how a rural Northern Ontario municipality has persevered to achieve such a project that will forever change operations in the community.
An equally engaging meeting occurred with The Hon. Paul Calandra, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Blind River’s progress and overall traction were lauded by the Municipal Affairs and Housing team. This in-person session was to highlight that the municipality, despite its size and location, is meeting every provincial directive, as well, are committed to building new homes in Ontario.
Blind River’s pitch aligned perfectly with Minister Calandra’s presentation to all attendees on Monday afternoon.
The municipality looks forward to further conversations with our engaged Ministers and is thankful for the opportunity to not only meet but also show local results.
