TOWN OF BLIND RIVER

Cameco’s Blind River Refinery proudly supports recreation and tools that ensure users have access to high-quality ice.
Cameco partnered with The Town of Blind River to fund a new ice edger through its community investment fund. This piece of equipment is vital to operations.
The Blind River Community Centre hosts thousands of users each month. The facility is receiving annual ongoing capital investments that ensure its next 40 years of service are smooth and safe.
Ice sports are a part of northern Ontario, and create a sense of connectedness and camaraderie, all while driving a strong winter economy.
Cameco believes in making a difference in the communities where they operate and where their employees work and live. Terry Davis, general manager of the Blind River Refinery said, “Our employees are not only dedicated in the workplace but also within our community. Many, like those here with me today, generously volunteer countless hours of their personal time to youth hockey. This donation helps ensure that children and all ice users have a quality finished ice surface to practice their skills.”
Mayor Sally Hagman shares, “The Town of Blind River would like to thank Cameco for its generous funding. As we work diligently to sustain our treasured facility for its next 40+ years of service, these contributions ensure our users are safe and have safe, high-quality ice.”
