BHP, a key community partner, has contributed $100,000 to support the Jamie and Jo-Ann Armstrong Centennial Arena Repair Fundraising Challenge. This generous donation has propelled the fundraising effort beyond its $500,000 target.
Richard Davis, Manager Legacy Assets Canada at BHP, expressed enthusiasm about the contribution, stating, “BHP is honored to contribute to the renovation of the arena. Giving back to our host communities is fundamental to our mission. Upon learning about the arena’s condition, we were eager to assist. We understand the significance of this project to the community and eagerly anticipate attending games once renovations are complete.”
The support from BHP and other donors has been pivotal in achieving our fundraising goal. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed thus far and encourage continued support to maximize our impact.
In response to the donation, Mayor Andrew Wannan stated “We are very grateful for BHP’s continued support of City initiatives”. Minor Hockey President Amanda McKay added “ BHP’s donation helps us get one step closer to getting our boys and girls back on the ice”.
