IROQUOIS FALLS – The Blind River Beavers saw Owen King collect a trio of man advantage markers Sunday afternoon during a 6-1 win over the Iroquois Falls Storm in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play at Jus Jordan Arena.

Breaking out of their own zone neatly, Blind River went on to open to the scoring on the power play as King came down the right side and ripped an attempt that eluded Iroquois Falls netminder Matis Bureau-Morel, nearly seven minutes into the contest.

Tying it up late in the first period, the Storm moved up on an odd-man rush which eventually allowed Landon Trethewey to stuff in a loose puck laying behind Connor Dunham-Fox, who had stopped a couple of Lucas Peever in-close attempts.

The Beavers went back in front just over three minutes into the middle session thanks to Jacob Beemer, who took a cross-ice pass from teammate Nicholas MacIssac and buried it five-hole.

A shorthanded effort from Mason Taylor then made it 3-1 as he collected his first in the NOJHL by finishing off a three-on-one at 11:56.

Another King man advantage effort made it 4-1 after 40 minutes as he buried one from the top of the right circle.

In the third, Blind River put the game out of reach early to go up by five.

King’s third of the game came with his side up a skater once more as he pumped one past the blocker of Bureau-Morel before Ryder Hill used a slight toe-drag before snapping one into the back of the net.

That also saw the Storm make a goaltending change, with Justin Sullivan entering in relief.

There proved to be no further scoring the rest of the way as the Beavers finished off a three-game road trip with a third straight victory.
