Arts on the Trail event will return Sept. 28.

The annual Arts on the Trail event is set to return on Sept. 28, inviting residents and visitors alike to immerse themselves in a vibrant celebration of artistic talent. This year, the event will feature over 50 local artists showcasing their diverse works at four distinct locations throughout the town, promising a day filled with creativity, inspiration, and community engagement.

Last year, Arts on the Trail attracted more than 800 art enthusiasts, demonstrating the growing appreciation for local craftsmanship and artistry. From 9  a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of artistic expressions, including jewellery design, painting, photography, and unique handcrafted items.

This is a chance for artists of all ages to share their talents with the community, while promoting an appreciation of arts and crafts, fostering partnerships within the community, and contributing to the local economy.

Among the talented artists participating this year is jewellery designer B’s Happy Creation, known for intricate and eye-catching pieces that blend modern esthetics with traditional techniques. In addition, Luvlee Creations by LeeAnn Giroux will showcase an array of beautifully crafted jewellery that reflects personal stories and cultural influences.

The event will also highlight the skills of several local photographers, including Susan Coventry, whose stunning nature and wildlife photography captures the beauty of the natural world. Coventry’s work not only serves as a visual feast but also raises awareness about conservation and the importance of preserving our environment.

The art of painting will be represented by talented artists such as Jean Grady, Julie Chmilnitzky, and Emma San Cartier, each bringing their unique perspectives and styles to their canvases. Grady captures the rugged allure of the big open skies, lakes, and trees of Northern Ontario. Chmilnitzky who lives in the forest will feature her take on the local trees and landscapes, and San Cartier’s colouful interpretations of her surroundings are just a few examples of the creative talent that will be on display.

To ensure that everyone can easily navigate the event, a free shuttle bus will run between all four locations, providing convenient access to each artist’s display. This thoughtful addition allows visitors to fully experience the breadth of creativity while minimizing travel hassles.

As Arts on the Trail approaches, excitement is building in the community. Local residents are encouraged to invite friends and family to join in this celebration of artistry and culture. Whether you’re an avid art collector or simply looking for a fun day out, Arts on the Trail promises something for everyone.

Mark your calendars for September 28, 2024, and prepare to explore the rich tapestry of creativity that our local artists have to offer.
